Culture

The objects of the activities of the Departure of Culture denote its dual role.

Its organisational role is characterised by activities related to the development of the cultural physiognomy of the city by organising innovative cultural interventions as well as the management of their infrastructure.

Its executive role is defined by its multifaceted activities (festivals, exhibitions, seminars etc. ) aimed at raising awareneness and mobilising the citizens in issues of cultural interest.

In addition, part of the Department of Culture is the Municipal Amateur School of Dance which is staffed with capable and well known teachers and it has many students with distinctions in various competitions.

The Department of Culture is housed at the cultural Center “Pythagoras”.
